Alternate assessment is a term that encompasses any of a variety of means for evaluating what an individual knows or is able to do through some means other than a traditional, standardized test. Often, this form of assessment is evidence-based, with evaluation standards and measurement criteria centering on demonstrated skills or a portfolio of work associated with a specified subject area or domain of learning.

Depending on your program you will use different criteria to measure students' skills or understanding of the subject. This section describes activities related to managing alternate tests.
